Dol Ashram was built with the express purpose of providing a tranquil environment for yoga and meditation. The Vedic method, taught at Dol Ashram, is crucial to maintaining a healthy and well-rounded lifestyle. You may join us at Dol Ashram if you’re curious about yoga, meditation, or spirituality.
History of Dol Ashram

Shri Parma Yogi Kalyandasji founded the Dol Ashram in 1990. It was in a little hamlet in the Almora area of Uttarakhand that Shri Parma Yogi Kalyandasji entered the world. At the tender age of 12, he embarked on a quest for enlightenment and submitted to the guidance of his teacher, Guru Paramhansa Baba Swaroopdasji. A large portion of his spiritual life was devoted to meditation and yoga. He spent almost twenty years meditating in the Himalayas and Orissa.
Shri Parma Yogi Kalyandasji founded various ashrams, including the Dol Ashram, to improve people’s spiritual lives by teaching them yoga and meditation. After meeting Maa Bhagwati on his voyage to Mansarovar, he set up Dol Ashram. Following their conversation, he decided to establish an ashram in the Himalayas. The Dol Ashram, founded by Kalyan Das Ji in 1990, is located in a tranquil pine forest at the foot of the Himalayas.
Dol Ashram Lodging Premises

Guests and seekers who desire to participate in Ashram activities are provided housing and food. Rooms at the Ashram are either single or double occupancy and are equipped with a private bathroom and hot water. The Ashram has a communal kitchen that may accommodate up to 120 guests.
The Shree Chandracharya Library first opened its doors in 1997. More than ten thousand volumes on religion, philosophy, and other subjects may be found in the Library’s stacks. In addition to the Ashram’s pupils, it caters to curious visitors and spiritual questers. It is the only place to get a complete collection of the four Vedas with accompanying commentary.
Those on a spiritual search can benefit from the Himalayas’ tranquil atmosphere, which is ideal for meditation. In 2006, a meditation hall that can hold up to 300 people was built so that individuals might practice Dhyana Praweshika, an ancient form of meditation perfected by Pujya Babaji over the course of years of penance and sadhana. The view of the Himalayas, with their snowy peaks, is breathtaking from the hall.
The Ashram requests a donation of Rs. 750 per day per guest, which covers lodging and two meals. The Ashram funds charitable causes like providing healthcare and education to underprivileged youngsters.
Dol Ashram guides you on a path to enlightenment via yoga and Vedanta. By adhering to Ashram’s daily schedule, you may say goodbye to the sedentary lifestyle most of us have adopted. The elimination of sloth, the biggest obstacle to spiritual life, is a primary goal of ashram practice.
Shri Swami Vishnudevananda, a student of Shri Swami Sivananda, developed the pedagogical framework for the yoga and meditation classes given. Vedanta philosophy, Yoga, Yoga asanas, Sanskrit, human anatomy and physiology, and meditation are all topics covered in the various courses. Moreover, it encourages students to use these concepts in real life and share what they have learned.
